Our Functions

• Formulate policies on waste generation, control treatment, evaluation and impact in the State the articulation and taking of continuous actions for the prevention, control, treatment, conversion, recycling, collection and management of waste in the State.

• Dismantle all unauthorized and all illegal structures and eject squatters from unauthorized locations.

• Partner with Local Government Councils as may be necessary, in the performance of its functions.

• Preparation of long-term plans in consultation with appropriate Government authority and other specialized bodies or persons.

• Conduct research alone or in partnership with other research institutions, bodies, persons towards ensuring effective performance of its functions under this law.

• Setting of standards relative to management of waste generation and disposal in conjunction with appropriate Government authority and other relevant agencies, bodies and persons.

• Conduct of other related or activities incidental to the powers expressly conferred on the body by this part of this law

• Revocation of the license of any waste manager to operate for failure to perform or render services in any place or zone allocated for its operation by the Board.
